LOBSTER_DATA – EASY TO USE.

No-code solutions, such as Lobster_data, streamline application programming with ready-made building blocks and user-friendly GUIs. This allows non-IT teams to take on programming tasks which, in turn, saves time, resources and costs. Not only can no-code applications be adapted to changing business processes with ease, unlike custom solutions, they also enhance IT security. This innate flexibility is key for companies looking to streamline their electronic data interchange (EDI).

MAXIMISE RESOURCES WITH NO-CODE.

In essence, no-code solutions are dedicated to making the process of building and deploying software solutions as inclusive as possible. The aim is to give software users and thus non-programmers access to development platforms that don’t rely exclusively on code. So they can create their own applications and programming processes without being forced to toggle between Java, Python, JavaScript, C, C++, PHO, SQL and Ruby. Instead, user experience and intuitive handling take centre stage. No-code environments deliver graphical user interfaces (GUI) with drag-and-drop features, based on the actual development language. While standardised building block makes it easy to visualise the processes and underlying logic without having to turn to source code and special commands. So overworked IT teams can share the load with employees from other departments.

EASY TO INSTALL AND USE.

Lobster_data’s well-designed GUI does away with the need for programming knowledge, while the wizard guides users through the solution’s easy-to-understand and intuitive handling. Data is manipulated using a filter system similar to Excel: functions are attributed to the corresponding fields or nodes. This means they can be incorporated easily, ensuring version compatibility. Lobster_data automatically documents the creation of each interface and profile, giving the user the option of adding specific comments. Independently of this, getting to grips with interfaces or setting up and using standardised functions becomes a straightforward task. Of course, it’s also possible to store unique, company-specific functions within Lobster_data, which are automatically added to the documentation.

When it comes to mapping efficiency, Lobster_data also scores highly with set filters, automated tree structure processing and direct access to databases, backups and third-party systems (ERP, CRM, warehouse, …) and much more. The mapping designer means data structures, field definitions, and more – whether standardised like EDIFACT, VDA, Fortras, PRICAT or custom such as XML, MS Excel or CSV – can be changed as desired. Beyond that, Lobster_data easily splits, converts and outputs large amounts of data according to user-defined criteria. As an open, platform-agnostic system, the graphical front end runs on Windows, Mac OSX and Linux operating systems. In addition to Windows and Linux, supported server-side platforms include AIX, IBM i etc. It’s also possible to install Lobster_data within a virtual server environment.

SUPPORT FOR IT EXPERTS. ACROSS ALL DEPARTMENTS.

“The fact that it is so easy to use. The extensive online support functions. The automatic documentation. Not to mention the added benefit of being able to choose to do everything yourself, but you don’t have to. These are all reasons why our customers have chosen Lobster_data,” says Maximilian Oswald, Head of Internal Sales at Lobster, and adds: “It’s not uncommon for IT departments to be short-staffed. These companies, in particular, really benefit from in-house tools that don’t require any prior programming knowledge. We have logistics customers, for example, where sales employees are responsible for looking after the system.”
